Résumé

Après description des différentes fonctions auxquelles participe la langue, ventilation – alimentation déglutition – phonation, leur impact psychologique et leur influence sur la croissance faciale seront explicités. La notion de posture est redéfinie avant d’aborder les dysfonctionnements linguaux et l’efficacité de la rééducation.

Abstract

After describing the different functions the tongue participates in, breathing, alimentation, deglutition, and phonation, this article elucidates their psychological impact and the influence they exert on facial growth. The notion of posture is redefined and then mal-functional behavior of the tongue is discussed and the efficacy of myofunctional therapy is evaluated.
